Workforce Development Program
At The Prescott Foundation, we bridge generations through living history by operating, demonstrating, and flying a fleet of WWII aircraft for public education and inspiration. Our mission is to preserve and maintain the heritage of these aircraft and share the stories of the men and women who built, flew, and maintained them over the past 80 years.
In September 2020, the crash of our beloved B-25 Mitchell Bomber, Old Glory, highlighted a critical need: preserving the skills required to restore and maintain these historic aircraft while building a future workforce of FAA-certified Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanics.
Training Tomorrow’s Aviation Experts
Our Workforce Development Program introduces individuals to the aviation industry, inspiring them to pursue FAA A&P certification. These mechanics are crucial not only for maintaining historic aircraft but also for ensuring the safety of millions of daily air travelers in the U.S.
We provide a supportive team environment, enriched by a large veteran presence, to help participants thrive. Many come to us without prior work experience and leave with new skills, passions, and career paths.
Join Us in Making a Difference
We need your support to expand this program and fund a dedicated instructor, enabling us to train more candidates. Your sponsorship will help us preserve aviation history and inspire the next generation of skilled mechanics. Together, we can keep these stories—and the aircraft that tell them—alive for generations to come.
