The Prescott Foundation Hosts a Private Marine Corps Birthday Ceremony on November 10 Followed by Free Tours for Veterans at The Hangar 743 in Latham
Latham, NY – The Prescott Foundation, in conjunction with Iwo Jima Survivors of New York’s Capital Region, will host a special private Marine Corps Birthday Ceremony on Wednesday, November 10 at 11am with US Marines, Veterans, and Active-Duty members at The Hangar at 743, located at 743 Albany-Shaker Road in Latham, adjacent to the Albany International Airport. Marine Veterans celebrate the Marine Corps Birthday every year with a ceremony including the youngest Marine, oldest Marine, viewing a video from the Commandant of the Marine Corps, followed by cutting of the birthday cake with a sword
Dating back to 1775, the Second Continental Congress established the Continental Marines. On this special occasion, Marines will dress in their blues. Three Iwo Jima Veterans plan to attend this celebration to commemorate the 246th birthday of the United States Marine Corps. Following the ceremony, on November 10 between 12:30pm and 2:30pm ,the Prescott Foundation invites all Veterans for a FREE tour to see World War II aircraft. These tours are by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, please email info@hangar743.com.
